In the very heart of Lisbon, the Mercador Palace is situated at just a few minutes walk from Avenida and Restauradores metro stations and many of the most iconic sites of the city.

Following there are just a few suggestions of the places nearby Mercador, that you'll have the possibility to visit during your stay:

Liberdade Avenue: It connects Restauradores square to Marquês de Pombal square and it's considered one of the most elegant spots in Lisbon, with centuries-old trees, buildings and fashion shops of internationally famous brands. Tivoli theatre is one of the buildings that will, without any doubt, catch your eye, founded in 1924, it was classified "building of public interest".

Coliseu dos Recreios: It is one of the few circular buildings, designed in second half of the XIX century as performance hall dedicated to Opera, circus and theatre. Its renovation allowed it to become a multifunctional pavilion, hosting the most different cultural venues.

Palácio Foz: Concert hall and cultural venues site, the palace was designed in the XVII century and built in the second half of the past century. Although the façade and the general structure can be considered as typical of the eighteenth century it already detaches from the baroque influence to approach the Italian "new taste".

Torel Garden: Situated on the top of one of the hills of Lisbon, next to the Lavra Elevator - the first elevator of the city - from which you can enjoy a wonderful view of Lisbon. The garden is equipped with a range of facilities, including a playground and a restaurant café to chill and relax after a long walk. The space also has little lakes and statues.

Glória Elevator: inaugurated in 1885 it links the Restauradores square and the Bairro Alto through a 265-metre trip up and down. When out of the elevator you'll find, on your right the S. Pedro de Alcântara viewpoint, from which you can enjoy the excellent views on the centre of Lisbon and the magic Castle of São Jorge. Right on the other side of the street there is the Port Wine Institute, where you can taste and buy a great variety of the famous wine.
